Getting married is a life-changing event. At this point neither Ann nor I can fully comprehend it. The Bible claims that the two of us will become like one. This sounds to me like surgery.
We also believe that our marriage is larger than the two of us and that we are dependent on our community for support. Therefore, Ann and I have decided to spend the week before our wedding preparing for this dramatic change with the people that we love most.
Most bachelor or bachelorette parties are either really lame or really perverted. We hope to redeem this pre-marital idea by creating something truly meaningful that brings us closer to to our creator, closer to community, and closer to each other before our wedding day.
Ann and I, along with our closest friends, will be spending the week before our wedding in the mountains of Colorado climbing and hiking. Each of our friends will have an opportunity to impart their words on us to help prepare us for the life of beauty, intimacy, and adventure that God has made us for.
